Welcome, welcome, welcome! Today in Flax Facts we have news from October. Let’s see what’s happening at Flax and what exciting things we’ve made.
Flax 1.13

We’ve just recently released Flax 1.13. It features various new improvements, mostly around the rendering area. Thanks to our community, we’ve got a few bugs reported and fixed; thus, we’re preparing to release a hotfix update 1.13.1 very soon to stabilize this update.
Multi-Blend Animation Inputs

In Flax, animated characters are driven by Anim Graph. This visual scripting-like graph controls which animations are used, how they are blended, and how it all works under gameplay control. A very common approach to implement character locomotion is multi-blend node that can blend multiple running animations to play character running or walking. Now, Multi Blend 1D and 2D nodes contain a new option to expose input pins for blend points to plug in custom animations. Those can vary per character (eg. provided by an input parameter). For example, the same Anim Graph can be used for male and female characters that use different animation sets.
FSR 4 Update

AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution plugin for Flax Engine has been updated to use the latest SDK 2.3.0 , which features FSR 4 upscaler. You can try it out in our Tech Demo on Steam (just use launch option: DirectX 12).
DLSS 4.5 Update

Similar to FSR, we have a public Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) plugin for Flax Engine. This plugin has been updated to the latest SDK v310.9.16 which allows running new DLSS versions such as 4.5 or 5.
That’s all for now; we’re going back to work. See you soon! 🎃👻🕷️
