Flax for Xbox One is here!

Xbox One and UWP platform support

We’re pleased to announce that Universal Windows Platform support is coming to the Flax Engine! Development builds of Flax’s UWP technology already run great on Windows 10 and Xbox One. We also look forward to supporting innovative UWP powered devices like the HoloLens and Surface Hub!

Universal Windows Platform

The list of Xbox One features and API’s is very extensive. We’ve wrapped some core features directly inside of Flax to support the majority of the platform-specific functionalities on every target system (Windows, Xbox One, Windows Store apps). This also includes full debugging support for both game scripts and UWP C# App generated by the Flax during building the game (more about Game Cooker technology in an upcoming post).

What’s next?

At this point, Flax supports 3 platforms: Windows, Xbox One and Windows Store. That number will be increased in the future but now we want to focus on something else. Our current goal is to finish all required features for the alpha/beta testing so early adopters could unleash creativity and create cool games with Flax.
You track changes live on our roadmap or via Flax API.
